Company Overview:

BAHA is a modern and unique bar, restaurant, and late-night venue in the heart of Bowness on Windermere. We offer a cool and contemporary atmosphere for guests to enjoy quality food, drinks, and live entertainment.


Job Summary:

As a Duty Manager at BAHA, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, top floor tiki bar & Born Noisy Karaoke pod. You will manage a team of front-of-house and back-of-house staff, ensuring that guests have a memorable experience and that the business operates efficiently.

A musical background is as a bonus as on Fridays and Saturday nights we have live entertainment and this may require supporting artists to set up their equipment with our system.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and supporting the front-of-house and back-of-house teams, including scheduling, training, and performance management.

  • Ensuring that all service areas are clean, organised, and well-maintained.

  • Maintaining inventory levels for beverages, and supplies and placing orders as needed.

  • Participating in stock takes (supported by our external auditor).

  • Monitoring and analysing financial performance, including sales, costs, and profitability.

  • Resolving customer complaints and ensuring that guest feedback is addressed promptly.

  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.

  • Supporting special events and promotions as needed.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in a management role in the hospitality industry.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • A  financial awareness and an ability to manage stock inventories.

  • A degree or diploma in hospitality or a related field is an asset. Further training in-house and with 3rd parties providers is available for those looking to progress.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills and a focus on guest satisfaction.

  • Proficient with IT solutions such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, ResDairy and hospitality POS systems.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.


Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, with flexibility required for evening and weekend shifts as needed. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items such as kegs, tables and ice.


Benefits and Perks:

The role is offered at a salary of £29500 based on the person being experienced and suitable for this role. We reserve the right to amend our salary offer. All staff at BAHA receive a share of the venue’s service charge which is 7.5%. Tips and a role-based KPI system is included with the role and let’s not to forget a fun and dynamic work environment.
